A formal reception was held in the Sarajevo City Hall on the occasion of the 11th Sarajevo Business Forum

Tonight, a formal reception was held in the Sarajevo City Hall, with a large number of dignitaries and guests, on the occasion of the 11th Sarajevo Business Forum. The hosts of the reception were the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, and the President of the Management Board of Bosna Bank International (BBI), Alek Bakalović, who wished all participants success during the upcoming two-day Forum, and all guests a pleasant and successful stay in Sarajevo.
In her opening address, Mayor Karić stated that Sarajevo, as well as the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offers many business opportunities.

“Sarajevo is a place of rapid economic growth, and the Sarajevo Business Forum has become a place of interaction between business people and institutions. Sarajevo creates a favorable place for business and business meetings. BiH has a lot of talented and capable people who create unique projects and products. The city administration is working on attracting new investments and creating new jobs, as well as creating an attractive tourist destination. It is encouraging to know that Sarajevo and BiH have so many influential people from the world of politics and business. I want this Sarajevo Business Forum to strengthen existing ties, both business and political,” said Benjamina Karić, Mayor of Sarajevo.

The organizer of the Sarajevo Business Forum is Bosna Bank International d.d. Sarajevo with its shareholders – Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), the sponsor is the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the strategic partner of the 11th SBF 2022 is the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

“We are proud that this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum exceeded our expectations and plans. A record number of projects were reported, which confirms that the region is ready for new foreign investments. BBI banka, among numerous socially responsible initiatives, singles out the Sarajevo Business Forum as the most influential contribution to the community”, said the president of the management board of BBI banka Alek Bakalović in his opening address.

As part of the reception, BBI Bank and the City of Sarajevo awarded – Medallion of the City of Sarajevo to eminent participants of the Sarajevo Business Forum.

Mayor Karić and director Bakalović presented the Medallion of the City of Sarajevo to Mehmet Muš, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Dr. Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustamu, Governor of Melaka State, Dr. Zambry bin Abd Kadiru, Chairman of Malaysia Airports Management and former Prime Minister of the State of Perak, Stjepan Mesić, former President of the Republic of Croatia, Sven Petke, Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Zoran Zaev, former Prime Minister of North Macedonia.

The ceremonial reception in the crowded City Hall continued with socializing, conversations and a cultural and artistic program.

Sarajevo Business Forum is one of the most important business and investment events for Southeast Europe, and has become a global platform for the promotion of projects and business entities, analysis and preparation of projects and adequate presentation of economic potential, as well as connecting businessmen and investors on an individual and institutional level. About 1,500 participants from 40 countries from all over the world have announced their attendance at the Forum.
